ATEC Awards 2018 criteria

Outstanding Contribution by an Individual to the Australian Tourism Export Industry        
Nominations may only be made by ATEC members. Nominees may be any individual within the Australian tourism industry excluding sitting Board members. ATEC members can also choose to nominate themselves. You can also nominate more than one person however you MUST complete a separate submission for each person. The ATEC Chairman is ineligible to win the award. Nominations CLOSE on 15 October 2018.

For each nomination made: 

  1. Summarise the nominee's work history in Australia's tourism export industry, including length of time in industry.

  2. Describe the nominee's personal involvement outside work commitments in Australia's tourism export industry.

  3. List the nominee's key achievements and initiatives and describe how these have benefited Australia's tourism export industry. 

  • The winner must have achieved excellence in their work - going beyond the call of duty.
  • This individual must satisfy the ATEC Branch Committee that he or she has made a significant contribution - and that the interests of ATEC have been furthered as a result of their individual efforts.

  • Nominations may only be made by ATEC members.

  • Nominees may be any individual within the Australian tourism industry.

  • ATEC members can also choose to nominate themselves.

  • Nominations for more then one person from the same nominee are allowed however a separate submission must be made for each person.

  • The winner receives a stylish award/trophy and a flight prize from Qantas
       
Len Taylor Young ATEC Award for Leadership          
Named in the honour of ATEC’s former Managing Director, Len Taylor, this award recognises outstanding leadership in Australia’s tourism export industry by a young leader in the ATEC community. Nominations are made through ATEC members to their state Branch Managers. All ATEC member employers / senior managers encouraged to nominate a candidate.  The nomination must provide evidence to demonstrate the individual's significant achievement. The achievement must have a tourism export industry focus, must have been made within the last 12 months. Candidates must be under the age of 35 and be employed at an ATEC member organisation. Nominations CLOSE on 15 October 2018.          
 
  • The winner of the award is announced at the Gala Dinner at Meeting Place 
  • Nominations may only be made by ATEC members.

  • Nominees may be any individual within the Australian tourism industry under the age of 35 and employed by an ATEC member organisation

  • Individuals can also choose to nominate themselves.

  • Nominations for more then one person from the same nominee are allowed however a separate submission must be made for each person.

The winner receives:

  • Flight prize from Qantas
  • An honorary seat on their ATEC branch committee for one year 
  • Award/trophy and certificate of recognition
         

 

Outstanding Contribution by an Individual to ATEC or an ATEC Branch          
Submissions are sought from branch members who put forward local nominations based on criteria below. Nominees may be any individual within the Australian tourism industry excluding sitting Board members. ATEC members can also choose to nominate themselves. You can also nominate more than one person however you MUST complete a separate submission for each person. The ATEC Chairman is ineligible to win the award. Nominations CLOSE on 15 October 2018.

The nominee is required to complete the following three questions in dot points and 500 words or less, for each nomination made: 
         
  1. Summarise the nominee's work history in Australia's tourism export industry, including length of time in industry.
  2. Describe the nominee's contribution to the ATEC Branch
  3. List the nominee's key achievements and initiatives and describe how these have benefited the ATEC Branch.
  • The winner of the award is announced at the Gala Dinner at Meeting Place 
  • Nominations may only be made by ATEC members.

  • Nominees may be any individual employed by an ATEC member organisation within the Australian tourism industry.

  • Individuals can also choose to nominate themselves.

  • Nominations for more then one person from the same nominee are allowed however a separate submission must be made for each person.

  • Submissions are reviewed by the National Board where a winner is decided by secret ballot.

  • The individual must satisfy the ATEC Board that he or she has made a significant contribution to their Branch and that the interests of ATEC have been furthered as a result of their efforts.

  • The winner receives an award/trophy and certificate of recognition
         
The Chairman’s Award for ATEC Branch of the Year          
The Chairman's Branch of the Year award is bestowed upon the ATEC Branch which has demonstrated excellence in membership growth and success in event delivery. Success is measured both on achieving budgetary targets and demonstrating innovation in event planning.  All ATEC branches are automatically in the running for Branch of the Year.

The winner is announced at Meeting Place Gala Dinner and receives a plaque recognising the Branch's achievement.
