Australian Tourism Export Council

Welcome to Symposium 2010!

ATEC’s 33rd Symposium conference is being held in Hobart, which like the rest of Tasmania has emerged as one of Australia’s international tourism hotspots.

Tasmania is an exciting destination with lots of quality product and plenty happening on the development front, so it’s an ideal venue to host Australia’s biggest tourism conference.  ATEC will also being holding a day of business-to-business workshops to help generate business for and between members.

This year’s Symposium is all about looking to the future – putting the past twelve months behind us and planning how to prosper as the global economy recovers. Our keynote address will be given by outgoing Tourism New Zealand CEO, George Hickton, who will speak about the importance of building a brand, referring specifically to the ‘100% Pure’ New Zealand campaign. In addition you will learn about new digital marketing strategies, host several sector-specific sessions including our ever-popular market stream break-outs.

Of course, Symposium is more than just about work – delegates will get to experience some of the best that Hobart has to offer during the ‘Destination Showcase’, while anyone who is anyone will be front and centre for the best party of the year – the ATEC Symposium Gala Dinner.

We will also hear from inspirational speaker Allana Corbin, who survived being seriously injured and seeing several friends die in a tragic plane crash, to learn how to walk again and overcome the obstacles her experiences posed to her.

All in all it’s a wonderful program with something for everyone – don’t be the one to miss out!

    See you there!
