The Australian Tourism Export Council and the Backpacker Tourism Advisory Panel are proud to hold the annual ATEC Backpacker & Youth Industry Conference in the beautiful and historic Tasmanian capital - Hobart.


As with Symposium, the conference is all about looking to tourism’s future – putting the past twelve months behind us and planning how to prosper as the global economy recovers. Industry representatives from all over Australia will gather to hear about topics including business diversification, global youth and backpacker insights and social media.  You will also have the opportunity to participate in interactive break-out sessions where we will discuss sector-specific issues, challenges and solutions that will help shape a sustainable future for our industry.

Backpacker Delegate Famil – 19 April, 2010:   

Prior to the conference, ATEC is providing you with the opportunity to join colleagues and friends on a day-trip, hosted by Adventure Tours Australia, to historic Port Arthur.  This social famil will give you the chance to network, relax and take in the sights of one Australia’s most intriguing tourism destinations.


Itinerary:
•    7am pick up at the Grand Chancellor Hotel
•    1.5 hr drive to Tasman Peninsular/ Port Arthur
•    9am-12pm Port Arthur- ATA guided tour (Incl. short boat trip to Isle of the Dead)
•    BBQ lunch at Port Arthur picnic area (scenic spot)
•    View ATA Port Arthur House
•    Stop en-route back to Hobart – Tasman Arch & Devil’s Kitchen
•    Stop for ice-cream at Do-Town
•    Return to Hobart approx 5.00pm
