What is Young ATEC?

Young ATEC (YATEC) is made up of ATEC members under the age of 36 who are interested in furthering their careers through networking with other young professionals working in the tourism industry.

In addition to YATEC's regular events, YATEC members also have the opportunity to take part in mentoring programs and other events and programs within their state ATEC branches.

Young ATEC Branch Events

Young ATEC events are run independently by the Young ATEC Committee in each branch. These events are aimed at those employed in tourism who may be new to the industry, and offer the opportunity to meet industry colleagues in a social or educational environment to learn from experienced senior personnel within the industry.

YATEC events are designed to be fun and innovative for the leaders of tomorrow.

Sonya Mroz – winner of the 2009 Len Taylor YATEC Award for Excellence will be flying over to London at the end of September to work with Tourism Australia for two weeks as part of her prize. We wish Sonya the best of luck and would like to thank the sponsors ATEC, QANTAS, ACCOR and Tourism Australia.

This year we have 14 mentees for the 2009 YATEC National Development Program in South Queensland. Thank you to all of the mentors and mentees for taking time out of their busy schedules to be part of the program. Good luck and see you at the graduation!
