ATEC's Chairman 

John King

 

Our Chairman is appointed independently by the ATEC Board for a term of three years. Our current Chairman, appointed in May 2006 and now continuing for his second term, is John King.

 

John King is the Managing Director of Sydney-based tourism marketing and development consultancy, Global Tourism & Leisure Pty Ltd. Mr. King works as an adviser to Government and tourism authorities, industry organisations and companies principally throughout Australia, Asia, Pacific and the Middle East.

 

His 33 years of tourism-industry experience includes 12 years in senior executive positions with the Australian Tourist Commission (now known as Tourism Australia).


He is widely recognised for his work, particularly in the fields of Indigenous tourism, wine tourism and destination brand development.
